This is extremely bad. The police are corrupt. So now it will make it harder to rent out a room in your house for extra money. If you don't trust the person you rent the room to they could file a false complaint and let the police search the whole house just because they live there. Also think about what could happen if you have a friend you don't trust or a girlfriend that you don't trust. This is an attempt to divide America and turn american citizens against other american citizens. This is also going to be an excuse to rise the price of your rent as more people are renting. Land lords need to add a higher risk premium to protect themselves from their tenants who they may not trust and they are going to push that on the American citizen at a time when less people own a home because they were stolen by rich people using unfair loan practices.
